This is a very good movie, but the presentation here is ruined by the inappropriate music. Yes, Tchaikovsky is certainly Russian, but fairly early in, the boatmen are singing, yes, "Yo, heave, ho," lyrics from the song "The Volga Boatmen," NOT a Tchaikovsky symphony. Is it really that hard to put appropriate music to a great movie?I saw this on a big screen in the late, lamented Silent Movie Theatre, when it was run by the Hamptons there on Fairfax Boulevard in Los Angeles. John Hampton programmed 78 RPM records and his music always fit what was happening on the screen.Michael Morrison
